Augmented Sculpture





In January 2010 the Cologne based design agencies Grosse8 and Lichtfront presented their cross-media installation “Augmented Sculpture” for the first time to a public audience.

The core of the installation is a 2,5m tall wooden sculpture that builds the screen for a 360° projection with virtual content. The projection constantly augments the sculptures outside within a 2:32 min. long, dramaturgically structured edit of video content to a track by musician Jon Hopkins.

The sculpture becomes a mirror of changing realities. As a result, a kind of real virtuality arises to confront virtual reality.

LICHTFRONT visualize DJ HELL

 

In support of the album Teufelswerk, scheduled for a September 2008 worldwide release, DJ Hell will embark on a sweeping tour that will include dates in South America, Japan, and North America.

 

Unsanctioned release parties during the summer slated to take place in cities such as Hamburg, Barcelona and Munich will offer a glimpse of the newest manifestation of the phenomenon called Hell. 

An impressively huge 3D mask is used as a projection screen for the LICHTFRONT visuals.

 

Okinawa 69 & LICHTFRONT VEEJAYS on Tour with SUPERMAYER

 

Seeing is believing! Electronic music addicts and graphic designers Okinawa 69 and LICHTFRONT teamed up again to create the Motion Design of the recent „SUPERMAYER save the world“-Tour.

Okinawa 69 and LICHTFRONT bring along their customised videoloops and graphic sequences to support Aksel’s and Michael’s stunning shows visually.

Okinawa’s jack of all trades Tasso Treiss and LICHTFRONT visual artists Joerg Thommes, Stephan Müller and Svenja Kübler come to R.O.C.K. your eyes again. On their hard drives they will bring their visual munition consisting of matchless handmade clips of Aksel and Michael as puppets in superhero costumes in a unique combination with computer generated imaginery. You don’t want to miss it!

Viva Las Vegas !

 

We are still working on the video design for an upcoming Las Vegas Casino show. We still have to keep this show secret, but we will show details as soon as we are allowed to do it.

VIXID Mixer

 

The most innovative product of the year will be "VIXIDs" VJX16-4 video mixer.

Leaving the concept of the traditional A/B mixers behind, Sebastien and his crew from VIXID developed the most powerful video tool. VJX16-4 gives you full control over 4 layers in realtime, including the blend effects (add, multiply, darken...) to each of the four layers. You can easily switch the layers by using the 16 push-buttons of the matrix.

After playing most of the festivals with their beta-version, we couldn't wait to get the final one. In fact the mixer is amazing easy to handle and the results are really cool. We're really looking forward to our next gigs, because it's so much fun, if your images are "best quality" and not ruined by Edirols awful keyer.

If you like to perform with a realtime compositing tool, this product is top-notch.
